Singapore Airlines to Launch Next-Generation Suites on Airbus A350 and Boeing 777-9 Fleet in 2026

Singapore Airlines is set to introduce its next-generation first and business class cabins in the first half of 2026, featuring suites that aim to “redefine comfort, luxury, and modernity for an unmatched onboard experience.”

Although these advanced premium suites were originally developed for the airline’s long-delayed fleet of Boeing 777-9 aircraft, they will actually make their debut on the Airbus A350 fleet starting mid-2026.

CEO Goh Choon Phong previously described these new offerings to Executive Traveller as a “quantum leap” from the current Boeing 777 premium cabins, including a “first class that we believe will once again establish industry standards upon launch.”

The 31 Boeing 777-9 aircraft on order—to replace the airline’s existing 777-300ERs and A380 superjumbos—are now projected to arrive in 2027 or later, contingent on Boeing meeting its latest delivery promise to begin deliveries in 2026, starting with launch customer Lufthansa.

A Singapore Airlines spokesperson told Executive Traveller that the airline is “working closely with Boeing to finalize the delivery schedule for its 777-9 aircraft.”

As a member of Star Alliance, Singapore Airlines has released a brief teaser video showcasing its upcoming private first-class suites. The suites feature elegant Louvre-style doors, inspired by local Singaporean design elements, offering a glimpse of the luxurious experience to come.

The patent suggests that the first-class cabin on the Boeing 777-9 will feature six suites: four private suites positioned by the windows and two additional suites in the central row. Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines has confirmed that the A350ULR aircraft will be equipped with only four suites in a single row.

Singapore Airlines’ New Business Class Suites on the 777-9 and A350

Singapore Airlines’ upcoming business class suites are set to improve passenger experience significantly, not only offering privacy with the ability to close the door but also helping SQ compete more effectively with rivals like ANA, Cathay Pacific, and Qatar Airways.

Though the details are still limited—mainly a glimpse of the door opening and closing—the design features a beautiful airplane motif on the panels, inspired by Singaporean aesthetics and colors from SQ’s signature palette.

Passengers will face forward in these suites, with a spacious footwell directly in front, eliminating the need to sleep diagonally or wedge feet into tight spaces. Additionally, the new design means you won’t need to flip the seat into a bed, addressing common comfort concerns in long-haul business travel.

The suite layout keeps the familiar large monitor alongside storage compartments, ensuring convenience. Based on the teaser, seat 16K appears to have a window-side position, with the armrest design indicating a staggered configuration. This suggests passengers will sit facing forward, with a mixture of window and aisle seats, rather than the alternating front/back arrangement seen in rivals like Qatar’s Qsuites.

Expect the big screens in these suites to include Bluetooth audio streaming, and it’s highly likely that both the new business and first-class suites will offer wireless device charging and high-power USB-C sockets for added convenience during the flight.
