Eurostar is best known for its route connecting London and Paris, which transports approximately 280,000 passengers annually between the UK and French capitals, but the company is quickly broadening its network.

As part of a new lineup of services, including routes from the UK to Germany and Switzerland, Eurostar has recently announced a new service running from Amsterdam to Geneva via Brussels.

The possibility of launching this route is being considered for around 2030, with plans to operate multiple daily trips. The journey is expected to last around five hours, and the number of trains running from the Netherlands to London will be increased from three to four per day to support the new route.

This addition is part of Eurostar’s €2 billion plan to expand its train fleet by up to 50 new trains. Currently operating in the UK, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and Germany, the new Switzerland stop would make Eurostar’s presence in six countries, with the new trains intended to enhance this reach.

Eurostar currently serves about 19.5 million passengers each year, marking a 5% growth since 2023. Gwendoline Cazenave, the company’s representative, stated there is “strong demand for rail travel across Europe, with travelers eager to go farther by train than ever before.”
