La Liste, renowned for its culinary rankings and annual list of the world’s top 1,000 restaurants, has now turned its attention to luxury accommodations. The respected guide has released its latest ranking of the world’s finest places to stay in 2025, featuring the top 10 hotels that exemplify exceptional hospitality.
While personal preferences vary—from city-center glamour to tranquil rural retreats, or sleek modernity to rustic charm—these ten hotels stand out as the ultimate in luxury, according to La Liste’s data-driven approach. Their rankings are based on an extensive aggregation of thousands of reviews, expert opinions, and guest feedback, ensuring the selection reflects true excellence in hospitality.
This year’s list includes six hotels from Europe, two from Asia, and two from the Americas. London and Paris each boast two entries: London’s recognized hotels are the historic Savoy and The Connaught, famed for its butler service, while Paris features La Réserve and Cheval Blanc.
In Asia, the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok and The Peninsula Shanghai secured spots, and from the United States, The Peninsula Chicago was the sole representative.
Philippe Faure, founder of La Liste, emphasized the credibility of the rankings: “Our algorithm doesn’t lie. These establishments genuinely represent the peak of global hospitality,” he said. “Each one offers more than just a place to stay—they provide guests with a transformative experience.”
