Riyadh Air, set to launch in late 2025, is choosing Airbus A350s over Boeing 777X for its long-haul fleet. The airline, which has already ordered 72 Boeing 787-9s and 60 Airbus A321neos, is expected to place a significant order for around 50 Airbus A350s—mainly the A350-1000—at the upcoming Paris Air Show.
This decision comes as the 777X remains uncertified and significantly delayed, making the A350 the more reliable choice. While Riyadh Air will start with Boeing 787s, its future long-haul flagship will be the A350, likely operating to key markets. The airline aims to deliver a premium passenger experience, including first class on its flagship aircraft.
