Air Arabia is set to become the first airline in the region to accept cryptocurrency payments for flight bookings. The airline will introduce AE Coin, a stablecoin pegged to the UAE Dirham, allowing passengers to pay securely via the AEC Wallet App.
Partnering with Al Maryah Community Bank—the UAE’s first fully digital bank—Air Arabia aims to enhance the customer experience by embracing digital payments. Group CEO Adel Al Ali expressed pride in introducing AE Coin as a secure, innovative option, highlighting the airline’s commitment to digitalization.
Travelers booking flights on Air Arabia’s website can now choose the AEC Wallet at checkout to pay with AE Coin, marking a significant step toward modern, tech-enabled travel payments in the region.
