Cathay Launches New First Class Lounge in Hong Kong

This week, one Cathay Pacific first class lounge is closing while another opens, as part of the airline’s multi-year, multi-million-dollar overhaul of its Hong Kong lounge offerings.

The newly opened lounge is The Deck First, which is the same space previously known as The Deck lounge—located near Gate 6, adjacent to the Qantas Hong Kong Lounge. Prior to the change, it operated as a business class lounge.

For the next 12 months, The Deck First will function as an “interim first class lounge,” according to Cathay, while The Wing First undergoes an extensive year-long renovation starting Friday, May 23.

The Deck First maintains the same entry criteria as The Wing First, welcoming first class passengers, Cathay Diamond members, and Oneworld Emerald frequent flyers. Named after its wrap-around terrace that offers views of several departure gates at the northern end of the terminal, as well as the airport’s apron and central runway, The Deck First features seating for 180 guests and includes eight shower suites.
