Singapore Airlines will move its operations to Changi Airport’s new Terminal 5 (T5) when it opens in the mid-2030s. Built on a site almost as large as the current airport, T5 will feature over 100 departure gates, increasing Changi’s passenger capacity from 90 million to 140 million annually. The airline group, currently operating across three terminals, will consolidate into T5, enabling the creation of premium lounges for frequent, business, and first-class travelers. Other Star Alliance carriers are also expected to relocate there for better connections.

Designed with a blend of city and nature, T5’s architecture includes overlapping curved roofs, creating a more human-scaled, neighborhood-like feel. It will be divided into three sub-terminals—T5A, T5B, and T5C—with dedicated zones for bio-safety measures. The terminal will have its own automated people mover (APM), a Skytrain to Terminal 2, and an MRT station on the upcoming Cross Island Line, with future extensions linking directly to the city.

Located near existing runways, T5 will be part of Changi East’s development zone, surrounded by an urban district of residences, shops, and offices, redefining the airport experience as a social and community hub.
