United airlines add daily flight between Bangkok and Hong Kong

United Airlines announced on Wednesday that it will expand its service to Asia, becoming the sole U.S. carrier offering daily flights to both Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Bangkok, Thailand, starting October 26.

The flights will depart from Los Angeles and San Francisco, first traveling to Hong Kong before continuing to their new destinations. These routes will be operated using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which typically accommodates 257 passengers across four classes.

In 2024, Thailand welcomed over 35 million international tourists, marking a 24.3% increase from the previous year, while Vietnam saw 17.5 million arrivals, a significant 39.5% rise.

United Airlines will provide service from the United States to 32 different cities in the Pacific, four times more than any other U.S. airline. “At United, we’re reshaping how people view their travel options by providing unparalleled access to explore and experience the world, whether for leisure, adventure, or business,” said Patrick Quayle, Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances at United, in a news release. “We go beyond offering the best schedules and travel choices; we connect customers to desirable destinations and opportunities to discover vibrant new cities.”
