Emirates takes delivery of first A350

In a significant milestone for both Emirates and Airbus, the airline has officially taken delivery of its first Airbus A350 in Toulouse, France. This event marks the beginning of a new era in Emirates’ fleet modernization, underscoring its commitment to enhancing passenger experiences while prioritizing sustainability.

The striking aircraft, adorned with Emirates’ signature red, green, and gold livery, was showcased on the tarmac as executives and aviation enthusiasts gathered to celebrate the occasion. Registered as A6-EXA, this aircraft is the first of 65 A350-900s that Airbus will provide to the airline.

Envisioning the Future

The A350 will complement Emirates’ fleet of long-haul heavyweights, including the A380 and Boeing 777, allowing the airline to explore new routes and improve connectivity between secondary cities and its Dubai hub.

Innovating Passenger Experience

Engineered with passenger comfort as a priority, Emirates’ A350 incorporates cutting-edge features. The aircraft is equipped with advanced cabin pressurization and humidity controls aimed at reducing jet lag on long-haul flights. Additionally, its wider cabin layout provides more spacious seating across all classes, including the much-anticipated Premium Economy, which has already gained popularity on the airline’s refurbished A380s.

The A350 also boasts a state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system, featuring 4K screens, high-speed Wi-Fi, and an extensive library of entertainment options.

Before its official unveiling at a special event later this week, the aircraft will receive its final enhancements at Emirates Engineering.

A Commitment to Sustainability

Equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, the A350 is among the most fuel-efficient widebody jets in operation, consuming 25% less fuel per seat compared to older aircraft in the Emirates fleet. This efficiency supports Emirates’ broader sustainability goals, including its commitment to reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Guillaume Faury, CEO of Airbus, expressed his congratulations to Emirates, stating, “We are excited to see the A350 become a vital component of Emirates’ renowned fleet. This aircraft represents the pinnacle of modern aviation—efficiency, performance, and passenger comfort.”
