The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is excited to celebrate the inaugural flight of ITA Airways from Rome to Bangkok, enhancing travel connections and strengthening tourism and business relations between Thailand and Italy. This direct route offers Italian travelers convenient access to Thailand’s famous attractions and vibrant culture.

On November 17, the inaugural ITA Airways Flight AZ0758, operated by an Airbus A330-900neo with a capacity of 291 seats, arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport from Rome, bringing over 300 passengers and crew, including ITA Airways executives and key figures from Italy’s travel sector.

Mr. Siripakorn Cheawsamoot, TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing for Europe, America, the Middle East, and Africa, expressed enthusiasm for the new Rome-Bangkok service, noting that it provides Italian travelers the opportunity to experience Thailand’s culture, beaches, and hospitality, while also strengthening the ties between the two countries. He emphasized that this route will promote travel and cultural exchanges, benefiting both tourists and business travelers alike.

Upon arrival, Mr. Siripakorn and H.E. Mr. Paolo Dionisi, the Italian Ambassador to Thailand, welcomed passengers and presented special souvenirs to mark the occasion. TAT will announce a strategic partnership with ITA Airways at a press conference and networking dinner later that evening at Capella Bangkok, highlighting the collaboration’s potential to boost travel and economic connections.

ITA Airways’ new route operates five weekly flights, linking Italy and Thailand as part of the airline’s expanding intercontinental network. It is expected to shine during the 2024/2025 Winter season, with flights from Rome to Bangkok departing every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday at 15:15 (local time), arriving the next morning at 07:40. Return flights leave Bangkok at 12:15, getting back to Rome by 19:00.

Ms. Emiliana Limosani, Chief Commercial Officer of ITA Airways and CEO of Volare, stated that the Rome-Bangkok route significantly enhances ITA Airways’ intercontinental connections, providing access to one of the world’s leading tourist capitals and a bustling business hub. This service opens up opportunities for Italian leisure and business travelers to explore Thailand’s celebrated destinations and reflects the airline’s commitment to providing optimal travel solutions in this important market.

This new route joins a range of flights to Thailand for the 2024/2025 Winter season, emphasizing the country’s status as a prime destination for global travelers. With increasing connectivity, Thailand is poised to welcome visitors to its rich culture, natural beauty, and renowned hospitality.
