Hong Kong Reports 40% Increase in Visitor Arrivals in the First Nine Months

In the first three quarters of this year, Hong Kong welcomed nearly 32.6 million visitors, representing a year-on-year increase of nearly 40%, according to data released by the Hong Kong Tourism Board on Thursday.

Out of the total arrivals, over 25.2 million visitors came from the Chinese mainland, marking a year-on-year increase of approximately 35%. Additionally, arrivals from other regions surged by 59% during the same period.

In September alone, Hong Kong recorded nearly 3.1 million visitor arrivals, reflecting a 10% increase compared to September of last year, with around half of these arrivals being overnight visitors.

Notably, visitor numbers from South Korea reached over 592,000 in the first three quarters, an impressive year-on-year increase of 171.3%. Meanwhile, arrivals from France exceeded 93,700, showing a robust year-on-year growth of 73.6%.
