Emirates Enters Strategic Memorandums of Understanding with Vietnam Airlines and VietJet

Emirates has signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Vietnam Airlines and VietJet to enhance connectivity and travel options between Dubai and Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. The agreements were formalized during the Vietnam – UAE Business Forum at the Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah on October 28.

The MoUs aim to expand existing cooperation by improving connectivity beyond current interline routes and introducing reciprocal loyalty benefits. Emirates will also engage in discussions regarding potential collaborations in cargo and technical services to enhance traveler experiences.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in strengthening trade and tourism links between the UAE and Vietnam, a market that Emirates has served since 2012.

Nguyen Chien Thang, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines, described the MoU as a significant milestone that enhances flexibility and convenience for passengers. Similarly, VietJet’s CEO, Dinh Viet Phuong, highlighted the partnership’s potential to expand international travel options for VietJet customers through Emirates’ extensive network.

Additionally, the UAE and Vietnam have recently signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), aiming to boost trade and investment, with bilateral trade exceeding $3.2 billion in the first half of 2024, a 43% year-on-year increase.
