Saudi Arabia has launched the Saudi Travel Festival in Beijing, designed to enhance Chinese tourism through immersive experiences that highlight the kingdom’s heritage and provide exclusive travel deals.
The festival was inaugurated by Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khateeb, at Tiantan Park in Beijing on Thursday. Running from October 18 to 26, the event is part of the kingdom’s strategy to attract more Chinese tourists by offering an immersive exploration of its rich cultural heritage.
The festival features interactive booths showcasing iconic Saudi attractions such as Diriyah, AlUla, and Al Baha. Attendees can enjoy live performances, traditional music, and dance while taking advantage of exclusive winter holiday travel promotions. Additionally, demonstrations of sadu weaving—a centuries-old Saudi craft—offer visitors insight into the kingdom’s artistic traditions.
Saudi Arabia has also streamlined its visa process with an easy-to-use e-visa system. Connectivity between China and Saudi Arabia has greatly improved, with direct flights available from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen to Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam, operated by airlines including Saudia, Air China, China Eastern, and China Southern. Furthermore, Cathay Pacific is set to launch a new route between Hong Kong and Riyadh on October 28.
